💳 Payment & Refund Policy – The Techquila Way

💼 Payment Requirement

No work gets started until the first payment is received and a signed Client Agreement & Intake Form is on file — unless both sides agree otherwise in writing. Techquila Freelancing Inc. reserves the right to pause, delay, or stop work entirely if payments fall behind.


💰 Accepted Payment Methods

  • e-Transfer

  • PayPal

  • Stripe

  • GoCardless

  • Certified Cheque

  • Automatic Bank Withdrawal

  • Cash

  • Other pre-approved methods

📅 Payment Schedule

Payment terms are outlined in your service agreement and usually follow one of these structures:

  • Flat-Fee Services: Payment required before the project begins unless a different structure is agreed upon.

  • Subscription Plans: Billed at the start of each billing period (monthly or annually).

  • Projects over $750:

    • 50% upfront

    • 25% at project midpoint

    • 15% at draft completion

    • 10% on final delivery

  • Annual Prepay Option:
    Pay once for 12 months of service — no monthly fuss, no interruptions.


🚫 Late Payments

  • A 3% late fee applies to overdue balances.

  • Services will be paused or suspended until payment is received in full.

  • Repeated late payments under a monthly plan may result in a switch to prepayment-only status.

  • Consistent non-payment may result in permanent account suspension or legal action.


🔁 Refund Policy – Fair & Firm

🚫 Non-Refundable Services

Some services just can’t be undone once delivered. These are non-refundable:

  • Completed service work

  • Subscription plans (monthly or annual)

  • Missed appointments or late cancellations (see Appointment Policy)


💡 Refunds May Be Considered For:

  • Billing Errors
    Overcharges, duplicates, or errors made on Techquila’s end.

  • Failure to Deliver
    If we can’t fulfill agreed-upon services due to reasons within our control, we’ll refund the affected portion.

  • Extenuating Circumstances
    Medical emergencies, major life events, or unforeseen situations may be considered on a case-by-case basis.


🚫 Refunds Will Not Be Issued For:

  • Change of Mind
    Deciding to cancel after work begins does not qualify for a refund.

  • Dissatisfaction After Delivery
    If the service was provided as agreed, but subjective preferences weren’t met (e.g., design style, tone, aesthetic), we may offer Corrective Service, but not a refund.

  • Client Delays or Inaction
    If a project stalls or ends due to lack of client input, no refunds will be issued for unused portions of service.


📩 How to Request a Refund

  1. Contact Us
    Email support@techquila.ca with the subject line: Refund Request
    Include: your name, project name, invoice number, and a brief explanation.

  2. Review Process
    We’ll review your request within 5 business days. Additional info may be requested.

  3. Outcome
    We’ll email you the decision. Approved refunds will be processed within 7 business days using the original payment method.


💵 Currency & Taxes

All fees are charged in Canadian Dollars (CAD). Applicable taxes will be added based on your location and service type, as required by law.
